International Trade
Washington, DC - With numerous issues on the agenda for 2007,
Business Roundtable today released a valuable resource designed
to provide up-to-date information on the often complex world
of international trade. The
Language of Trade is a simple-to-use reference publication
with important information designed to facilitate the work
that must to be done to expand U.S. markets, grow our economy,
and ensure continued U.S. global economic leadership.
The 2007 edition of The Language of Trade is being
distributed to all Members of Congress and will be available
at www.trade.businessroundtable.com
in a searchable format for easy reference and download. This
publication is part of a multi-year Business Roundtable effort
to promote strong appreciation for the economic benefits of
liberalized U.S. trade and investment policies.
"The Language of Trade was first published last year, and
proved to be an extremely popular tool for Members of Congress
and staff alike," said Brigitte Schmidt Gwyn, Business Roundtable
Director of International Trade & Fiscal Policy. "This Business
Roundtable publication is designed to help advance the understanding
of an increasingly complex international system. We hope this
reference tool continues to be a valued resource for Congress
and the Administration as they work together to ensure continued
U.S. global economic leadership."
The Language of Trade includes three sections:
